Moving is a fact of Army life. Relocation Readiness has been an integral part of ACS since 1965. This program is designed to assist Soldiers and Families with transfers and relocations throughout the tour cycle. Workshops, counseling and support focus on pre-moving planning, moving and settling into a new community. We are here to help answer the questions you may have about your new home. Pre-Arrival Support
Pre-Arrival Support provide inbound servicemembers and Family members with essential USAG Baden-Württemberg military community information to reduce the stress associated with transitioning into a new and unfamiliar community, facilitating mission readiness through reduced in-processing time and quicker Family member adaptability.
Welcome Packets
Welcome packets are comprehensive packets that provide general and specific installation information to individuals who are moving to the USAG Baden-Württemberg. Information includes brochures and booklets pertaining to events, programs and services in and around the Rhine Neckar area. There are also area maps and an assortment of other “need to know” items regarding the availability of a variety of facilities and services in the USAG-BW. Electronic Welcome Packet is also available.
Sponsorship
Apply for a sponsor today. A sponsor can help you and your Family get acquainted in your new community and can help you find all the local resources, both military and civilian. EASI-Gate (European Assignment/Sponsorship Integrated Gateway) is the one-stop real time web-based portal for Soldiers on orders to Europe. DoD civilians, contractors and military of other services should contact the gaining agency or ACS directly to request a sponsor.

Moving children
Moving Families and changing schools is not easy, but the Housing office and DoDEA schools will assist you after your arrival.

Lending Closet
The Lending Closet will loan basic household goods for up to 60 days, to help ease the transition of a PCS. Customers may borrow dishes, silverware, pots & pans, coffee pots, irons & ironing boards, toasters, pack-and-plays, high chairs, vacuum cleaners navigations, prepaid cell phones & more! Fill out this Issue & Return Form (.pdf, 109KB) and bring it in, along with your ID card and a copy of your orders, to get started.

Culture College (formally FLAG)
Culture College is designed to help you and the entire Family adapt to the culture so you don’t miss out on the European experience. This class is tailored towards the needs of Family members, DOD civilians and DOD sponsored contractors. Free child care is available.Culture College application (.pdf, 150 KB)
Hearts Apart
It is inevitable that throughout a Soldier's career, he/she will be separated from their Family. That's why Hearts Apart is committed to providing support networks and proper information to Families residing on-post or in the surrounding area who are living separately from the military and civilian sponsor because of mission requirements.
Waiting Families Program
Relocation Readiness will keep Families of servicemembers on an unaccompanied tour connected with the community through quarterly Hearts Apart meetings. The spouses of deployed Soldiers discuss the stresses and concerns of their separation at these support groups and share coping skill with one another.
Foreign-Born Spouses Group
This is a multicultural, multiethnic group that meets once a month for tea, coffee or an outing, during which a wide range of topics are discussed such as adjusting to life in the foreign country, raising bilingual children, hobbies and much more. The group is a wonderful resource for foreign-born spouses because it provides members an opportunity to meet other spouses who are in a similar situation. Any spouse whether foreign born or not, is welcome to attend.
A workshop is offered upon request to foreign-born spouses addressing assimilation and immigration issues. Foreign born spouses may also request assistance regarding immigration and naturalization provided through the Relocation Readiness Program Manager.
Relocation Counseling
Counseling is available to help devise a relocation plan for your PCS move. Information and resource materials, which include but not limited to, Military Homefront, relocation website booklets, installation PCS-TDY guides, relocation tri-folds, and an out-processing checklist are provided to assist clients during the relocation process and to answer any questions.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration
Get the naturalization application instructions (.pdf, 110KB) and FAQ (.pdf, 98KB). The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) have developed Civics Flash Cards for the New Naturalization Test. Check your knowledge!
