Services: Housekeeping services are available daily from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. “Do Not Disturb” signs are provided to inform room attendants that no service is required.  Please note that if the “Do Not Disturb” sign remains on the door after 1 p.m., there will be no housekeeping service provided for that day. In addition, housekeeping must enter the room after 24 hours regardless of the “Do Not Disturb” sign. Staff members will enter the room on the third consecutive day that a “Do Not Disturb” sign is posted.

Laundry: For your convenience, laundry facilities are located in the basement of the Franklin Guesthouse. Machines are free of charge, but you must provide your own laundry supplies. Detergent and fabric softener can be purchased at the Commissary (Bldg. 200) on Benjamin Franklin Village BFV North or at the Main PX (Bldg. 313) on BFV South.

Banking: The Community Bank and Service Credit Union are located on Sullivan Barracks (Bldg. 250) and both provide a full range of banking services. Additionally, there is a 24-hour Automatic Teller Machine (ATMs) located on the south end of the Main PX (Bldg. 313) on BFV South, and at the Commissary on BFV North (Bldg. 200). Both dollars and Euros can be extracted at all ATMs located on military installations. There is also limited check cashing and Euro conversion offered at the PX.

Checkout: Checkout time is 11 a.m. All keys are to be turned in at the front desk upon checkout. If you are departing before the front desk opens ( 6 a.m.), please place your keys in the drop box located outside the lobby door. Late checkouts may be arranged if availability allows, but prior arrangements are required in order to avoid late checkout fees.

Cooking: For your convenience, the Franklin Guesthouse has two fully equipped kitchens with microwave ovens and stoves located in rooms 235 and 335. For sanitary reasons, guests are required to leave dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen areas clean. Vending machines for snacks and soft drinks are located in the kitchen on the second floor (Rm. 235). Both kitchens are also equipped with ice machines

Bicycles: The bicycle rack is located on the front, left side of the Franklin Guesthouse. For reasons of safety and in order to prevent unnecessary damages, we ask that you do not store your bicycle in your room or on the sidewalk.

Damages: We have attempted to equip all guest rooms with sufficient furniture to meet your needs. In order to avoid damaging the room or its contents, we ask that you refrain from installing additional furniture or rearranging the existing furniture. Guests will be held responsible for replacing property taken from rooms and for damages that are determined to be in excess of fair wear and tear.

Fire Exit Doors: Emergency fire exit doors are identified on the fire plan in each guest room. Fire exit doors are for emergency use only and must remain closed at all times

Furnishings/Linens: We have attempted to equip each guest room with appropriate furnishings and linens. Each guest room includes an AM/FM radio, cable TV, internet access, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, hairdryer and an ironing board with iron. All attempts should be made to take reasonable care of these furnishings and fixtures. Linens are provided as a service to you during your stay and should be used for their intended purpose. Please, do not use them for washing/drying cars, changing oil, cleaning boots, etc. Guests will be held liable for all damaged and/or missing items.

Hold Baggage: Due to limited guest room space and a lack of excess storage, we ask that you do not have hold baggage delivered to your room. In order to clean your room properly, the staff must be able to access all areas of the guest room.

Long Term Guests: In order to receive full housekeeping services, please assist the housekeepers by storing all personal items in the closets. Housekeeping will not remove items in order to vacuum, dust or make beds. Clean towels and washcloths are provided daily. Bed linens will be changed every three (3) days or upon request. Payments for accommodations are required every 30 days.

Method of Payment: Cash, personal checks for the amount of the room charge, and most major credit cards are accepted for payment. See the reception desk for more information or you may call them by dialing “65”.

Newspapers: A Stars and Stripes newspaper vending machine is located in the area outside the reception area. For news and information on the Mannheim and Heidelberg Communities, the Herald Post newspapers available to you every Thursday and is free of charge. You can pick up a copy in the reception area.

Pets: Pets are authorized at the guesthouse; however, the number of pet rooms are limited. If a pet room is not available, a list of hotels that accepts pets is available.
Quiet Hours: In consideration of other guests, designated quiet hours have been established from 9 p.m. - 6a.m

Reception Staff: To contact the reception desk simply dial “65” from your guest room telephone. If you are staying in a suite, you must use the phone located in the master bedroom to contact reception. Wake up call service is provided upon request. Please note that the reception hours of operation are from 6 a.m. - midnight.

Reservations: Reservations can be made during our hours of operation by calling DSN 380-1700/9218 or Civ 0621-730-9218/1700. You may also contact us by email at george_franklin2@eur.army.mil. If you need to adjust or extend your visit, contact the reception desk by dialing “65”.

Valuables: As Mannheim Army Lodging is not responsible for items left in rooms, it is the responsibility of the guest to protect their valuables while staying in the Franklin Guesthouse.

Vehicles: Washing, waxing, oil changing, or other vehicle repairs are not permitted in the Franklin Guesthouse parking areas. The Mannheim Auto Skills Center located on Taylor Barracks (Bldg. 426) offers a 24-hour high-pressure car wash, Speedy Lube Oil Change, and other vehicle repair services. The AAFES Auto Pride Car Care Center is also located on Taylor Barracks (Bldg. 351) and can assist you with you car repair needs. Additionally, there is a wash area with basic facilities located on Sullivan Barracks at the refueling point (Bldg. 247).
