Attention Valued Kids’ Zone Customers:

Kaiserslautern Community,

Thank you for voicing your concerns about the closure of Kids Zone. The reason for the closure as of Oct. 1 is due to the under use of this facility and continued monthly financial losses over a long period of time. It became vital that F&MWR take decisive action after 11 years of Kids Zone and re-look its investment strategy as far as the "Children's Amusement and Recreation" market is concerned. With already a skeleton staff, further cutting labor as a method of saving the business was not an option in order to keep service standards at a safe and acceptable level. The Director of Family & MWR will ensure that the future use of the Kids Zone space will benefit the entire community as F&MWR programs are moved from other closing garrisons to Kaiserslautern as a result of transformation and unit re-stationing. F&MWR remains committed to this community by providing the best possible Soldier and family facilities in our everlasting commitment to the Customer and Family Covenants which remain a central part of our promise to you.
