Do you remember when children grew up in neighborhoods building friendships that last a life time? Do you wish children overseas had that opportunity? If so Heidelberg Family Child Care (FCC) Program may be a viable option for your child care or career needs. FCC provides children a “home away from home,” a safe home with quality care where children develop relationships, create memories and learn through play with a childcare professional.

The Heidelberg Family Child Care (FCC) program is a managed network of professional individuals providing child care in their government quarters. FCC provides care for children age 6 weeks to 12 years; however, it is the FCC Provider's preference, certification and expertise that determine the ages of children in his/her FCC home. A FCC Provider’s primary goal is to help each child to foster self-concept, strong emotional well being, proactive social interaction, as well as intellectual and physical growth. Each FCC Provider strives to provide a safe environment, enriching experiences, and loving care for children in her home. FCC follows regulations similar to center-based child care but offers a small group setting and flexible schedules.

FCC provides multiple types of care including full-day, part-day, hourly, extended hours (overnight or weekend), infant/toddler, and special needs care. These FCC programs support operational readiness, mission accomplishment and retention for family members of active duty service members, DoD civilian employees and eligible contractors.

Is FCC the right place for your child care needs? Is FCC a career option for you? Not sure, but would like to know more? Then visit Army FCC online (www.armyfcc.com). The public access portion allows viewers to have a closer look at most of the Army FCC Programs. However, to peek inside the FCC homes via Providers’ web pages a password must be requested from Parent Central Services or the FCC Director.
