The Financial Readiness Program offers education, counseling and support services to assist ID cardholders with their financial affairs. Our number one priority is to support Soldiers and their Families in maintaining a healthy financial lifestyle. Finances are a top stressor in the lives of military Families. This program strives to resolve immediate financial problems while at the same time, encouraging long term saving plans.
Army Emergency Relief (AER)
This is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1942 by the Secretary of War and the Army Chief of Staff, AER's mission is to provide emergency financial assistance to Soldiers and their dependents by way of a no-interest loan or grant. Financial Counseling
If you wish to take a closer look at your finances, you can schedule a one-on-one appointment with a financial specialist. We can help you create a budget, track your expenses, review your credit or develop a savings plan. We will analyze your specific financial situation and develop a financial plan tailored to your needs.Download a sample budget sheet. (.xls, 22KB)
Debt Liquidation
If you find yourself overwhelmed by your level of debt, this service will offer you some relief. We will analyze your finances and determine how much money you can allocate towards debt repayment. Afterwards, we will assist you in contacting your creditors and making payment arrangements. We can negotiate on your behalf a full payment to your account, a monthly payment plan or a settlement. We will also schedule follow up appointments to evaluate your progress and to revise payment schedules, if necessary.
Security Clearance
If your security clearance has been recently suspended due to financial concerns, we can help you get it back. We will analyze your Statement of Reasons and your most current credit report. According to this information, we can create a monthly payment plan and assist you in contacting your creditors. After you have initiated payments to creditors, we will assist you in writing your rebuttal letter to the Central Clearance Facility (CCF). We can also help you if you are currently processing your reconsideration or appeal to your security clearance case.
Emergency Food Assistance
Food assistance is available to active duty Soldiers and their Family members in a financial crisis.
