The Family Readiness Group (FRG) Program is designed to ensure the personal preparedness of Soldiers and their families.

Our Mission: To foster family self-sufficiency, solve problems at the lowest level, and provide families with critical information.

FRG training is designed to assist units with forming and sustaining their FRGs. Resource information, on-going training, pre-deployment, deployment, and reunion briefings are provided to all units. Training is open to FRG leaders (and other volunteers), FRG liaisons and rear detachment commanders. Please contact us to schedule any of the following trainings:

Family Readiness Group Leader Training
Provides comprehensive training to leaders of FRGs. The training includes beginning a FRG, eliciting participants, complying with the Commander's family plan, training and equipping volunteers, organizing meetings, and developing stimulating and informative programs. (1 hour)

Enhance Your Reunion
Provides spouses with homecoming and reunion basics to include understanding expectation, embracing change, preparing the home for reunion, effective communication, relationship building, and preparing family members for the return of their father or mother. (1 hour)

Adapting to Change, I and II
Assists participants with understanding the dynamics of change. The two-part course introduces the notion of living without the deployed spouse, family dynamics during the deployment, the observation of changes in the deployed spouse, and self-changes. Participants will learn the concept of resiliency in the context of developing coping positive coping mechanisms. The courses address all aspects of change, starting with pre-deployment and ending with re-integration and reunion. (1 hour)

Point-of-Contact Training
Trains individuals on all aspects of POC responsibilities to include building a chain of concern roster, keeping an activity log, using effective oral communication during phone calls, and providing useful information. (1 hour)

Family Readiness Liaison Training
Addresses all topics pertaining to Operation Ready. Assists trainees with understanding the Family Readiness program, acquainting family members with helpful resources in the community, and gives an overview of the services provided by Army Community Service. (1 hour)
